As far as talent goes its no contest between Crutchlow and Spies. Lets loo at what theyve acheived up to now.

CAL WSBK - Rookie year 2010, 10 podiums, 3 wins, 5th in the championship on Factory Yamaha

BEN WSBK - Rookie year 2009, 17 Podiums, 14 wins, Champion on Factory Yamaha

CAL MotoGP - Rookie Year 2011, 0 podiums, 1 top 5, 12th in the championship on Tech 3 Yamaha

BEN MotoGP - Rookie Year 2010, 2 podiums, 9 top 5s, 6th in the championship on Tech 3 Yamaha.

Ben actually won a race last year which many riders never acheive in their entire careers.

Cal has been better so far this year, but only an absolute fool would write Spies off 2 races into the season.

You conveniently forget that when Spies' was doing his thing in WSBK, Cal was doing the same in WSS. That Yamaha swiftly move Cal to Moto GP regardless of his 2010 season.

Let's not turn this into a who's got the bigger winky contest.

The fact is both riders have done superbly over the last few years, and as much as it hurts to hear, Spies isn't cutting it at the moment, and Cal is.

Ben put his hand up and for sure his confidence must be down there with Rossi's at the moment. Its going to be difficult for him if he doesn't turn his 2012 season around big time next weekend.
As much as I'm a backer of Spies, I have to be even handed in criticsm.
Fair enough the M1 had a bent frame in Qatar, but Ben bent them both. Yesterday,by his own admission was pathetic. I hope he turns it around next Sunday.

Have a look at what has happened, a nasty off in Qatar qualifying followed by a race night of chatter.
Ben even said the only good thing about Qatar was that he tested the Airbag suit, since he didn't use it last year.
Ben never used airbag suits before 2012 as he publicly stated that they restricted his movement.

I'm getting the feeling that being dragged by the wrist in Qatar by his bike dented his confidence, and that suit has restricted his movement maybe only slightly, but slightly is all you need to go from 1st to 10th in this level of racing. I mean we've hardly seen the return of 'elbowz' with the return to him riding a 1000cc bike
