Cal is the real deal on the 1000cc. I know not yet 3 races but he is really suiting the top class now.

Not Bradley bashing, but even last year I didnt think he had proven he had earned a motogp seat. Think contract was given too early, for PR reasons maybe.
Now it looks like Dovi will have to be unseated to make way for Smith.
Its hard to see how tech3 can justify getting rid of a 125 world champ, twice 250 runner up and last years 3rd place motogp rider to a rider who has yet to win a mid category race and is currently looking like a top ten moto2 rider.
This is not an attack on Smith more a defence of Dovi, as he is a quiet but very consistent top rider who doesnt deserve relegation to CRT or a satelite ducati.
Shame for him to only have one season on the M1 before having to move on again, it wont do his career any good.

Cal could move to yamaha garage, but Spies is too class a rider to lose just because of first 2 poor races.

I hope this means a new attitude in Spies: to fight for the best time from the first practice and not take it easy thinking he could go out on the last lap of QP and knock out a front spot. We'll see.

Unless Bradley Smith starts hitting the podium regularly and has a few wins this year, I personally don't see him fit for GP and on such a nice ride as the satellite Yamaha. I felt they made to many promises to him early on, and promises should go both ways, it's time Smith started living up to his promises to be a more successful rider. Dovi certainly would be my choice over an untested mid pack rider from Moto2. I'm being harsh, but this is racing.

In regards to Cal, naturally it's too early to call things, but he's got great confidence and is well settled with the 1000cc Yam this year. He was a little squirrely in the first few laps of Jerez but settled down. He was smart enough not to take a dangerous lunge at Dani too. Looking to see what he can do the rest of year.

What's to say either Tech3 rider are giving way for Bradley?

Has Bradley been promised an M1 or is it a contract that says "you'll ride for Tech3 but on what bike (M1 or CRT) has yet to be decided"

The energy here in Estoril is incredible. The talk here is Valentino needs to up his performance if he's to have a Yamaha next year. So it will be interesting to see VR46 push to show. Even if he's only 5th or 6th, it needs to be done with effort and yes, a smile. Cocacola and monster ate both here to observe. The podium will no doubt be a Honda Yamaha mix, but it should be exiting in the beginning with cold tyres. This is ducatis best show, Yamaha and Honda in cold tyres. Although 3 laps into it reality will kick in but, vale needs to show. Rumor is, Yamaha will approve cocacola/monster VR46 in the next 2-3 races. I won't have the full skinni until after race Party.

Cheers!!!!!

Spies is fastest in Session 1 and it means nothing/one session is meaningless. Cal is 3rd in another session and it's a sure indication of...something great??

I am neutral between them, but my logic beeper is going off.

Babera must be a real pest to Valentino at the minute, buzzing round him on race day and out qualifying.

Cal looks great this year. Best hope for Duke is 6th unless of crashes.
