"I was actually going to scrap my best lap but I made up some time in the last sector and it was good enough for the top three" - Cal Crutchlow.

Did not know what to think of Cal from last year suspected a repeat of the Toselands BUT very happy to see him display this level of form on the 1000s this year so far. Absolutely electric performances from him on the world stage. Go Cal.

I'd like to think that Cal's performances might give Herve a few more bargaining chips to request a higher level of support for Tech 3 this year. It's typically after the first few races that the gap begins to really widen.

In the meantime all he can do is makes the best impression he can while the equipment remains competitive, and in that respect he's doing a remarkably good job.

Both Tech3 are giving fits to the Yamaha factory team!! Me thinks the equipment must be pretty equal, since they still haven't developed the factory bikes much further anyway.

@ Yamazuki

No, not much development yet, but the Tech 3 bikes started the season a developmental cycle down from the full works machinery. The frame, motor, electronics and brakes are all different on the factory bikes. Clearly the Tech3 bikes can still be competitive despite that, but I'm hoping the gap doesn't widen too much more.

Hats off to Cal, I had him down as an over confident, crasher...a bit out of his depth. However, I have to eat humble pie now, and I am going to enjoy scoffing it whilst watching and admiring Cals courage as he endeavors to take his first step up onto the Moto GP podium. Very proud of him, its damn hard not to be!

Go for it Cal!
