'Fair play to Andrea because he rode a great race once he passed me early on and it didn't matter how much pressure I put on him, he never cracked' - Cal Crutchlow

That makes two riders who have admitted that other riders have beaten them fair and square (although Dovi does have full factory brake package).

Who is the other rider?

R O S S I

Who is absolutely not the other rider?

You guess...

It's a measure of Cal's progress that a slightly disappointing race for him still saw him comfortably in the top 5. Sensibly settling for the best achievable position wasn't really something that could be said of him last year.

At this stage his bigger concern must be over how many more factory updates Dovi might exclusively receive. If that continues it's going to make it an uphill struggle for him to compete on equal terms.

Nice to see Cal giving credit to his team mate where credit is due. Its a far cry from his early years, when he was an arrogant ****** and dissed his team mate whenever he was beaten. lol

Good to see him growing in other ways not just in terms of his speed and consistancy on the bike.

Got to agree with most of these comments - Cal is becoming increasingly more likeable, as his over-confidence (which a lot of people saw as arrogance) is levelling out. The way things are going he'll be the first Brit in donkeys to run consistently at the sharp end of top-flight Grand Prix racing, which is no mean feat.

Just hope he gets the same updates as Dovi is/will be receiving...

Yes they did say that Dovi paid for the brakes. Well Cal was still slightly faster than him until his overtake attempt, then he settled for 5th.
