MotoGP » Abraham: I need to sort myself out and get some points

'The main problem we're facing right now, though, is the mental state of our rider – which after three race failures isn't too good' - Marco Grana

If feel shuggiemac's remark about ignorant comments bears some fruit - yes its true that a large amount of riders are where they are because of financial backing from family.

HOWEVER, none of those other riders used that money to get them a ride in MotoGP when they weren't necessarily capable of it. They had all proven themselves as frontrunners already, and that money was used to support their development and fund their way when a team felt they were ready and offered a ride.

Karel should take a leaf from the rookies before him (and after with Bradl) and prove himself worthy first.

"HOWEVER, none of those other riders used that money to get them a ride in MotoGP when they weren't necessarily capable of it"
Of course they didn't, you mean people like Roberts JR, John Michel Bayle,John Hopkins etc. Without forgetting the list of subsidised British riders like Leon Haslam.
Many questioned how Randy De Puniet got the factory Kawasaki ride, it hasn't stopped him providing us all with hours of entertainment.

Karel is him a big problem thats for sure.. I like him and he can be fast but its true that he need to be a little like Stevan Brdl more inteligente and take t more esay.. He lacks a little bit of experience but thats not all he is on the Worst bike of the paddock **** Ducati dificult to ride and make an overall race.. with this high talente riders and fast like Randy Colin and sometimes other CRT riders if he is the one that at the end dont make points because of crashes will be hell for him to survive

Sorry RSMick but he IS slow...and crashes a lot. Here are the facts:-

Portugal
2.2 seconds from pole
Race - crashed.

Jerez
2.2 seconds from pole. Out qualifed by De Puniet on CRT bike.
Race - Last

Qatar
1.5 second from pole.
Race - crashed.

Add to that a lot of crashes in the practice sessions.

Personally I just think he's going to end up in a heap. There's only so many times you can crash and get away scott-free. And to fall off whilst near the back - what's the point?

He never crashed in Qatar, try watching the races instead of looking at the Motogp site.
Here's some stats
Race Qatar
VR 1.63 from fastest
KA 1.51 " "

Jerez
VR 1.04 from fastest
KA 1.55 " "

Estoril
VR 1.24 from fastest
KA 1.94 " "

Check all last season, he was always within 1 second of the man on the best Ducati out there, that is not slow.
"And to fall off whilst near the back" Sigh, its called racing.

What if he goes without scoring any points the entire season? Yikes! Honestly though, based on his stats, he didn't/doesn't need to be in MotoGP. In 7 seasons, he has only amassed one win, and 2 podiums, and he only broke into the top 10 once.
