Has it occurred to anyone that Jellyson might be pleased to let someone else have a go? If the someone else agrees with JE about the bike's shortcomings then JE will be vindicated. If there is a problem and someone else can fix it then JE will benefit. If someone else says the bike is OK then JE will learn what he needs to do. Everyone benefits.
Bird knockers (ooh, Matron!) are quick to criticise, but to his credit Birdy is open with his thoughts, whereas some other team bosses might be more inclined to subterfuge. My only doubt is that it may not be a good move for Shakey. He risks injury spoiling his BSB season and he has nothing to gain in running at the tail of a GP grid.

WHY o WHY Dont Aprillia Look at their Data and Help the Team/ Surely it is in their interest to Help with CRT riders . James proved he could ride until the Bike 'conked'. Why did it break Down. Why is there severe Chatter. I am now back from Portugal and I could see James was struggling to keep the bike straight. He is normally a very smooth rider. I don't think he is at fault. Why blame the rider. Its the Bike that is the problem. Not Ellison. I don't think it is safe to Knock a riders confidence like this either. When theybust a gut all year to train for Season.

well one thing for sure if byrne rides it he will write the bike off as there is only 1 bigger crasher in mgp and that is R de P. still looking on the bright side at least Ellson will get a new bike to ride and maybe that wont chatter?
someone needs to have a little mumble in r de p and byrnes ears "to finish first, first you have to finish"

@ Tetley

Fair points, and I can't say you're wrong because I don't know what Ellison thinks of it, but I'd be very surprised if he was pleased to be replaced. He is the guy who is contracted to ride the bike for the season, and he's the one they need to make comfortable on it rather than any other rider. A mutual loyalty and trust between rider and team can be pretty vital in building confidence.

Of course if he really is happy to be replaced then that changes things quite a bit.

TETLEY : Come Come now.. how exactly will James benefit when Birdy is trying to get rid of him , and either tries to keep Shaky or get another rider , obviously you have still not cottoned on that Birdy cannot get over his over the top expectations for his team or bike.

Now Put the kettle on i am dying for a brew.

I agree with most comments here.Shakey is not suddenly going to turn the fortunes of the team around.Leave James ride the whole season, its too early to be changing riders.Fix the bike first.Shakey should concentrate his efforts to the task in hand.BSB.
