Paul Bird also made a 'BIG' decision in 2011, declaring to the masses publicly that Stuart Easton would have a ride no matter what for 2012 and he backed that up and then some. Stuart was led at the time in a hospital bed and he did not even know if he would ever ride a bike again. Birdy for one did not have to make such a promise. So there is the alternative side to everyone's criticism. Forums create opinions and yes armchair racers...

Birdy has pumped a lot of cash into the sport in well over a decade and at the end of the day, he makes the 'big calls' on what happens. Steve Hislop was not just moved on to Virgin cos of his age & Birdy has also shown loyalty to Byrne & Sykes who made 'big career changes' whilst in his teams. Both returned at later dates.

And ...yes I have known 'Birdy' over the years so whether my opinion is deemed biased or not.......i also appreciate the sport and people like him who put plenty of cash into it. As Tetley pointed out.....this could be a move to

cont.... As Tetley pointed out.....this could be a move to gain different feedback from a very experienced rider who could point the team in another direction.

Only people within a team set up know the circumstances in major decisions, the same applies with the drugs bust etc. Very very few people here actually know what is going on but perhaps think they do.

How can you be taken serously as a team owner when you send a bike out with no testing in the hardest 2 wheel championship in the world on an inferior production based bike which up to yet cant finish the race and then blame the rider and compare him to Casey Stoner on a $45 million team on the works Honda.Give James some testing and some slack.

As already been said before, if he wants some additional feedback that could be done at a test - you don't sack your rider or bench him for the race. Let's not even go in on the fact Shakey has zero experience with these tires or this kit.

But what make Birdy look like a tw@t is that he says he has been "milling over for a couple of meetings" when they just completed the 3rd race, James has had next to no testing himself, and Birdy shoots off at the mouth comparing to what Stoner does on the Honda.

Yeah, it's his team, his money, blah, blah, blah. But it looks like he's giving James (who I have no attachment to and don't even rate) a raw deal for not being able to get on with an undeveloped bike that handles like a 3 wheeled shopping trolley.

@RAWDAWG : What do you think of this " what is your take on Ellison getting a knock to his confidence when told by Birdy that he is wrong about the chatter problems he is having , almost saying he is making it up , and getting his good mate Shaky to say there is no chatter , thus giving him the perfect excuse to remove Ellison without looking bad.
