"Maybe we will let Shakey have a run out on the bike and rest James for a meeting" - Paul Bird.

Hasn't the bike failed to make it to the end of each race. Wasn't Ellison in a points position in Jerez? The comments seemed a bit out of order, but it sounds like they are using each week as a test, and therefore a race weekend with Shakey on the bike fits their program.

typical Birdy attitude. Bringing in a rider who has never really achieved much outside bsb. Feel Sorry for Ellison who in my opinion gives his best with what he has.

Were I a proffesional rider P Bird wouldn't feature on my list of potential riders/sponsors. Historically he treats his riders who he percieves as under perforning as sweaty t#rds.

James, although its might seem as amubulance chasing, contact the Motocard kawasaki team and see what the opprtunities are there for the rest of the season please?

you are too much of a nice guy good rider to be pooed on by Bird..

I think the only problem is that Birdy says out loud what he should keep in his head. If he'd have just thought 'might ask Shakey if he wants a go?' then did a test somewhere it would have all been ok, there's nothing wrong with a second opinion. Saying it straight to the press must make James feel like ****. Not a good man management style at all.

Paul Bird gave an interview with the press at Oulton today and he stated the reason is not because he doesn't believe Ellison or wants to replace him. It's Aprilia who do not believe there is a problem with the bike they have supplied. They do however hold Byrne in high regard following his time with them on the untameable RScube and would listen to him if he also found the same chatter and then they might be able to do something about it. He can't test the bike as he isn't a nominated tester so he wouldn't get race tyres. But if he did a race weekend he would and provide the same feedback as Ellison, or maybe even find a cure. Give Paul Bird more intelligence than what I've read on here from some people.

Have to admire Birdy for saying what he thinks rather than bullsh1tting. Ellison couldn't live with Checca or Camier as team mates - my only question is why did they choose him in the first place?
Have to say he was right about Stuart when everyone else had written him off
This man puts his money where his mouth is, supports racing and I for one think he has the credentials to make such decisions, even if they are unpopular
