So we've got an the Italian(I think) media saying Stoner to retire at the end of the year last week and now we have a UK tabloid saying Rossi this week. Hmmmm...wonder who's retiring next week? Lorenzo maybe...

How is it the Daily Telegraph got the exclusive ???? not the Italian or Spanish media ???
The British media have little or nothing to do with motorcycle racing, it rarely gets a couple of lines, but suddenly they're the one's with their finger on the pulse ????

This stinks of a PR stunt.

So Rossi has told his 'inner circle' - his father, his manager - and a Daily Telegraph reporter?? Lol.

Even the notoriously headline-seeking Italian press haven't got a whiff of this one, (which is unheard of).

'Highly suspect' is the phrase that comes to mind.

Rossi s a genius at promoting himself. It wouldn't surprise me if he has put out some small signals that he is leaving, to create a buzz around him and get people talking about him again in a more positive light i.e. this article has had to state that he is still the most popular rider.

This puts him in a more positive light (possibly increasing / maintaining his financial value) than that of finishing mid to back of the pack. Just an opinion though.
