Ant had to do dramatic things, like raising the rear of the bike a few centimeters, to get it to turn a bit better. Moriwaki have listened to Ant and the new chassis will have the engine slightly higher and other major changes. If I was Gresini I would have waited for the new chassis before dumping them. They had the winning bike in 2010, no reason they can't replicate that feat in 2012. I also wondered, why don't they just build some 2010 spec Moriwakis?

good on them. hats off to Mr Gresini he just wants his team to be at the front and be as competitive as they can. Moriwaki isnt giving them that opportunity. Well done
They dropped the Honda chassis for FTR in moto3 and now this. I hope to see Gino up the front a bit more now.

A cautionary tale for chassis builders entering Moto2. The development is a constant and expensive process. Also needed is great input from riders and the engineers to who can craft that input and the sensor data into an effective development path. Much the same as MotoGP. It will be a shame if there is a shake-out of chassis constructors in Moto2 leaving just one or two. It's another reason to contain the costs in this ultra competitive and entertaining class.

a strange case for moriwaki indeed. they won the first moto2 title, yet not the first-choice chassis builder. unlike kalex which managed to pull some teams from suter when they won the title last year.

when elias won the moto2 title on this bike, is it because the the bike was built around elias' riding style or only elias can ride it the way it should be ride?

Moriwaki were fortunate to have had a rider such as Elias during their first go 'round. Sadly, this has turned into a two horse race, albeit a good one!

because the tyres have changed too.. so the tyre and chassis may no longer work well together.

Maybe the Moriwaki will just not work with Showa suspension, for which Gresini cannot get out of the contract. QMMF run Ohlins.
Suprised its not FTR, they are not flavour of the month with Gresini but they bought their chassis for Moto3.
However, I will be suprised if the results change.

2010 spec Moriwakis. would not be anywhere near competitive now the lap times have dropped and the bikes are more developed now. Good lookin bike though.

Suter aint a bad choice for sure,However Kalex has proved superior a frame once tuned its far more complex setup, that cant be afforded by modest teams. A better off Gresini team can never find this as an obstacle.
They have the money&resources to be front runners.
