Even if he has recovered from his knee injury, he still won't have any experience on the underdeveloped bike and won't be bike fit. If he comes anywhere other than last he will have done a great job. He might have been better off replacing Joan at WSBK Kawasaki.

Very strange decision, how many race meetings has he actually managed to complete in the last 3 years, and at how many of them was he competitive? Should have just stuck De-Angelis on the bike and had him double up with Moto2

i really dont understand this he's been sturggling with injury for far to long now!

you have some great wsb riders in haslam, rea and laverty who could give this a better crack. im guessing the likes of the wsb boys have contracts that wont allow them. got to be the only reason CV has got this

Every time he tries to make a comeback I cringe,it's scary just thinking of the damage he could do to his knee.
I really do wish him all the best but will be watching him fearing the worst.
Just don't damage that knee.

I understand Vermeulen has been trying to score a test rider job so this makes sense for him.

For the team it also makes sense to give Vermin a go as a test rider.

I think he will just be riding round collecting data and giving a second opinion on some of the points Colin has already identified. I think he is sensible enough, given his recent injuries, not to try any heroics and will bring the bike back safely in one peice.
