"Vermeulen is an expert rider in MotoGP with experience working with the electronics and the correct use of the tyres, which are two areas in which we are currently working".

It's only a token ride, and judging by the above comments from the team, not such a bad decision. However I also think the ride is also payback for something Chris may have done previously.

This is not fantasy racing, where you are allowed to have your choice from all the best riders. This is the real world where your rider is determined by what you can afford, and who is willing to interrupt their race season for a couple of rides with no prospects of significant results. Remember when Hodgson turned down a GP stand-in ride because there was nothing to gain? They are a private team and presumably will still be paying Colin, so they may have a narrow choice at today's pay rates. Also, I read that Haslam turned down the ride as it would interfere with his best-yet season in WSB. So, ride your luck, Chris, and I wish you success, but a poor showing could end your GP aspirations permanently.

Forward Racing's managers have been on the phone day and night to try and find someone willing to ride their crap CRT: Moto2 riders, WSB riders, WSS riders, they all politely refused the ride, because everybody in the sport has heard Colin saying the bike was unrideable. How would anyone having a ride take the risk to be injured with absolutely no chance to shine? Chris has nothing to lose, and being a smart guy he will probably make the best of the oppty by making as numerous contacts as possible, and by keeping the Suter with the rubber end safely in contact with the tarmac. He could even end up faster than Shakey, who replaces Ellison.

Remember folks, he is a temporary replacement for Edwards. Forward Racing need someone to settle in quickly: he is already familiar with a number of the team members, has premier class experience and is probably a solid financial choice.
Why not I say. Good luck to the man!

No disrespect to anyone, especially Vermin but I'm surprised that there is this much interest in either Chris or CRT fortunes.
As people are saying Chris is a thoroughly nice guy so seeing as rides aren't given out as presents, he obviously has earned the outing some other way. What will be achieved by it is another thing.
As for CRT, like most I can't get that interested, it is too early. They'll get better and start to worry a few prototype guys which will be fun.

Stats dont mean much you're only as good as your last race, Haslam 2nd in Monza, someone remind me where Chris came in his last race?

Anyway it doesn't matter, Chris has got the ride end of.

@sameoldsameold

So now stating CORRECT results is "trying to wind other posters up"?

You have nothing to say to ForumExpertsAreAJoke who incorrectly states that Chris' MotoGP stats are close to Hayden yet Hayden has 4 times more podiums. You have nothing to say to Realist who trys to slam Chris' stats yet they are far more impressive than Haslams. Yet I'm the one you wanna call out - for what? Actually knowing what I'm talking about and stating the correct results?
