dani doesnt have enoug figt in him to make this the greatest trio of rivals, jorge does though.
schwantz, rainey and lawson has to be the greatest ever for me.
all 3 massively strong mentally and physically. despite having such different riding styles they were all capable of winning every time they got on the bike.

rivalry suggests animosity so in this case it is maybe not quite appropriate, these guys are all quite mature IMO and understand that you can beat some one or be beaten and not take it personally - but yes it probably is the first time there have been this many riders this close

Greatest MotoGP rivalry? Biaggi vs Rossi! Suzuka 2001 (middle finger), Catalunya 2001 (fight) and many nice battles (f.e. last lap battles in Assen and PI 2001, Welkom 2004). Tribunes were only yellow and red at this times:-)

There's only one in the list that speaks of the greatest podium ever,

Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz, and Mick Doohan.

Sorry, but only Rossi, Stoner and Lorenzo would rival it. Pedrosa being on any of those lists is frankly a joke.
Minimum qualification should be a championship.

What about Hailwood, Agostini and a.n.other?

I think they all have plenty of fight in them but they are all gentleman, I dont think you could accuse any of them of dirty tactics - unusual in this day and age when there is so much at stake

True rivalry is when rivals really hate the other rider for beating them to the point of seeing in their body language, roberts and sheene, gardner and lawson, schwantz and rainey, rossi and biaggi were the best rivals of our time.

Most number of times on the podium, yes...greatest rivalry, no. The Schwantz, Lawson and Rainey rivalries has to be the greatest. They were willing to take risks to win and that kept you on the edge of your seat...close quarter fighting. Now it's the breakaway (w/c Rossi is opposed to btw) and it makes for a really boring race.
