I must say this saddens me,but as a parent i fully understand his decision to spend his time with his new family. Can only wish him the best in any future plans he may have.It has been a pleasure to watch one of the most talented riders ever.

LCTanner,do us all a favour mate and jump off that cliff you mentioned.Tool.

imma gonna sue dorna for introducing CRTS. PLls don't leave. among the current riders casey is the only one who does the slides and rides the bike in a extraordinary way. many may complain about him riding away without toying with the rivals. but you can't blame him for the rivals not being fast.

It was all way too clear and dangerous to continue going around over 300km/h when you hand gives up on you. Arm Pump has no cure and it only gets worse the more you force it no matter how many surgeries one make.

He made his decision and we have to respect that. He is probably the fastest rider MotoGP has ever seen, he has 2 world titles in premier class, amazing family, beloved wife and a little daughter. I can't be more happy for him. I'm sure he'll have a great life after MotoGP

Great shame Stoner's decided to retire, Dorna must be s***ing their pants now. Rossi will go in a year or two and their championship will be worthless. Only got themselves to blame.

Still no mention of this on the BBC.

Shows how much they actually care about this sport despite their protestations otherwise. T*****s.
