Glad you brought that up. Highlights my point exactly. It's not about preaching to the already converted, the so called purists. It's about attracting virgin bums to tune in and watch the spectacle. That is why the sponsors pay so much money to get involved.
Average people don't like bikes, look at how they treat them on the roads when safely strapped in the comfort of their cars.
It is trully shocking.

@OilSpud69: Good post it' true most people do not like bikes or are at least ambivalent,so the spectacle must be good to get non fans to the races, and that = more advertisers and more sponsorship.

So I take it then you guys want it to go back a few years till when Dorna identified one rider and ensured he had the best of everything, so much of an advantage in fact that he could mess about, put on a show, but then still romp away at the end for a comfy win.

Well have no fear, Marquez is on his way!

@Not for me

All the top riders clamour for the best bikes, it's nothing new, it's just the way it is and shall continue to be when Rossi is long gone.
Question is, will the average fan still tune in to watch the procession?
I'm talking about the action on the track, the wheel to wheel battles synonimous with Rossi, not the tedious Rossi post race celebrations.
Will the sponsors continue to pump millions when the viewing figures no longer warrant the expenditure?
I think not!

It should be drummed into every rider on the grid, that it is about putting on a show, entertainment with a capital E. Risky, yeah, but entertainment all the same.
It's just one big show competing for eye balls in a crowded market where there is so much more going on in people's lives than plain old statistics and tin trophies.
