The way Schwantz rode the wheels off the Suzuki in battles with Rainey was reminiscent of Rossi vs Stoner, but it happened very often in the past due to the 2strokes being closely even.

What Aussie said was... I have followed Gp a long time and he was just an average rider the only reason he (schwantz) got a title was because doohan had an accident.

I think you'll find it was Rainey who had the career ending accident not Doohan.

Keven was was no average rider , one must remember he was riding an under performing suzuki , it was his riding ability that made the difference.
his situation was not unlike stoners on the ducati.
it pays to read some behind the scenes stuff every now and then on past and present riders.
