Blusens Avintia rider Julian Simon unlikely to have caused the slippery start to the MotoGP race – his bike suffered an off-camera electrical failure in the final corner.

A gutsy finish but then this is a guy whose racing instincts are such that he got up on a shattered leg immediately after Sofuoglu ran into the back of his bike.
