There's a lot of bull written about weights. Marquez (59kg) and Espargaro (60kg), for example, are both heavier than Stoner (58kg).

Redding at 74kg is vast compared to Smith (66kg). The current top 4 in Moto2 weigh 64kg, 72kg, 74kg and 67kg.

Even in Moto3, Vinales is 60kg, Corti 63kg and Fenati 62kg.

Lorenzo is 65kg and Terol 63kg

Where are all these 'little Spaniards'?? Sure, Pedrosa is tiny at 51kg but it doesnt seem to do him that much good. He's smaller than most Moto3 riders and, seeing as you need a bit of bulk to chuck the bigger bikes around, is actually at a bit of a disadvantage. He needs more pies.

The weight argument just doesnt hold water.

Smith will not 'fly' on a big bike. 3 wins out of 100 GPs - all on tiny 125s - indicates an extreme lack of consistency and results. I dont know if Tech3 have a get-out clause for next year, but on current standings and with their current excellent MGP riders, they certainly need one.

I sometimes think that if you combined Brad's diligence, thoughtfulness and work ethic with Scott Redding's natural flair and aggression you'd have the perfect Moto2 racer. Other riders who've been successful in the class seem to possess both qualities in equal measure (Bradl, Luthi) and it's those guys who are best placed for success in the higher class.

I'm not going to say Bradley can't cut it in MotogP, but it sure would be nice to see some performances that demonstrate beyond doubt that he deserves the advancement - even on that dog of a bike he's been lumbered with this year.

The comment about combine Smith and Redding is a good one. I still think Smith is more likely to succeed because he does think, makes a bike/tyre last the race, and can be aggressive. Did you see the helicopter shot of his start this weekend. 19th to 6th by the end of the first corner. I'm not sure it gets much more aggressive than that, but I'm not sure he is aggressive often enough.

I still don't think we have seen the true measure of Brad because of his machinery, but Herve and TECH3 will know far better than any of us because of the data they have access to.

I tinck smith is good rider, he is not the best but is bike is not him the best bike to.. I tinck British riders are a little bit agressive they slid to much the rear and normaly they are bigger riders and never help him Moto2.. I enjoy both smith and Scoot this year seams like Scoot is more focus on results and is good for him.. But Smith finish 4 place 2010 125cc very good, then finish 7place first year Moto2.. He is him 8 place at the momente and still in prohress for better finish this year

Better luck next time Brad! Don't mind the 'critics' here on crash, bet its more disappointment than wisdom. Might want to consider staying in Moto2 for a season or so. Proof youre worth a prototype. A CRT won't bring you any progress. Keep it up fella!

Why is this kid receiving so much attention? His career is receding faster than his hair line. He had minor success in 125, he doesn't have the pace in moto2, and he won't have the pace in motogp. With Crutchlow doing well, you brits should be well occupied, don't need to (mis)place so much attention on "BS38".

For the love of Allah, I hope he doesn't read the tripe served up here in the comments.

All of these guys have bucketloads of talent and, as Cal has shown this year, performance on the lower-spec machines is no indication of performance on the 1000s.

So instead of knocking him, please just don't type. I'm Aussie, so I'm culturally pre-disposed against all things English when it comes to sport. But taking anonymous cheap shots at an up-and-coming talent like Brad is unbelievably gutless and should be wiped off the forum for his sake.

Make 'em eat crow, Bradley.
