Val isnt the only rider who can pull off daring overtakes Swissy.
Laguna 2011.Casey going around the outside of Jorge down the home straight leaps to mind. Now that was a daring move if i say so myself. Not even Jorge was expecting it!
Look, all these guys are trully great riders and deserve the utmost respect. We all have our favourites i know, but you have to admire them all for what they do.I wish i had 100th of their talent.

I don't understand why people are continuosly comparing Stoner to Rossi.. is a no sense!!
At least untill they won't ride the same bike!!!
Yeah... I'm a rossi fun and I love the way Stoner drives.. and i don't think there's sort of incompatibility in both things.. just differences.
Who's better is a matter of number, and unfortunately Stoner it won't give us the possibility to see him again next year.
About that year.. carefull, Stoner has a big gap, is not so strong mentally, Rossi knows that and Lorenzo as well.

There is more to a MotoGP bike than top speed advantage. If the top speed is such a telling factor, why didnt Hector win the opening race in Qatar?
His Ducati was easily the quickest through the speed traps.Over 209mph if i recall correctly.

"Sam, you would have been the one of many saying that Casey was on a Superior Ducati from 07-10."

Casey was on a very superior ducati from 07-10. I keep wondering why he wasnt able to repeat his 07 championship. Like the stoner fans always ask: is it the rider or the bike? And they usually say: you cannot have it both ways.

All these comment are nice to read...
Everybody expected rossi and his team to build a race winning bike! Nonsense!

Honda's recent bike is an evolution wich started in 2002... It's the result of 10 years of work... And then you simple souls think the ducati can be rebuild in 1 year??? 2007 was an exception because they build a tyre around the brutal force of the duke! End of story...

In the last year and a half and a couple of millions of dollars later the have a duke that is 1 full sec off pace in the dry...

I hope by the end of this year they will have sorted out the electronics and engine to put it close to the top...

Realisticly maybe at the start of the 2013 season the duc will be competitive...

They will sort it out but they need to put 10 years of work into two years!

Give the ducati boys a break! They are doing a hell of a good job!!!!

Mystery solved, GPOne is reporting that Rossi will be using the Aluminum swingarm on both his bikes. Hayden says it introduced chatter so maybe yes, maybe no for him.
Good riddance to the springy CF swing arm. Now march forward with incremental improvements.

@ TedG

Thanks for the update bro. It'll be interesting to see how this translates into a better handling, predictable, and tractable bike over the next few races as they dial in the settings around the aluminum unit.

P.S. It's good to know that Hayden received/is receiving the same parts/options as Rossi, so nobody can assert that Hayden is receiving "bargain bin Rossi toss-aways".

"At the moment he is 8 points behind Jlo, despite having by far the best bike, so he is not that much better than the rest?
Posted by bender"
By far the best bike in what respect? how did you come to that conclusion?
the first placed rider in the championship is not on a honda he is on a yamaha, if CS was not racing this year yamaha would most definitely win the title. As it is they still may and even if they dont I cant see a honda coming first and second. Please substantiate your opiniond with some reality.
CS just makes bikes look good.

I hope Ducati finds what they need for Valentino and Nicky to ride the ducati quickly, the last 18 months has been a very confusing time for Ducati, Valentino and their fans.
I will remind those that have forgotten of the last 6 races in 2010, on the bikes that were essentially those that were raced in 2011, Ducati won 3 races and Yamaha won the other 3, Honda won none!
Who would have expected the Honda to win the title in 2011 and yet we still have people like bender, with short memorys, who think its the bike....until they got CS it had been 8 years since honda had won a championship.
