Strangely only 7 seconds off the winner at this track last year, shows the handling problem is really is not so much about the ducati's ability to perform but more to do with the ducati's ability to inspire confidence in the rider, hence at a track he really likes and knows well he still does OK on the ducati.
with the improvement they have made since last year and Rossi's extra time in the seat plus the boost from the last race result I think we may see Vale back to form this weekend!

Watched a race from 1992 recently and I was reminded of how relatively hard to ride and unpredictable the premier class bikes used to be, no wonder there was more lead changing back then, it just wasnt as easy to get into a rhythm back then, riders made more "mistakes" so more action.

wow From a lot of the boys On here I suspect you know whats have probably not dropped yet Oh Vale Vale vale My God Vale Vale Vale ........Fortunately there were at least 21 other competitors in the le-mans race If you use the idea that the rain is a great equaliser then Ant west in Moto2 must be a better rider than vale he came from about 23 on the grid to 7th was it cannot remember now......made up more places in a given race anyway..........
I like Vale I do not enjoy most of the fan boy Rubbish the Ducati has better traction in the wet than the honda simple Hope honda never gets the wet setting right makes for some excitement at the end of the day!!!

@bikenut

What a ****load of crap... He rides the duc better because he likes the circuit... He's more confident in catalunya... Bullocks... Rossi won everywhere!!! Every circuit has it's own charactheristics... Maybe the bike works better in catalunya because of the types of corner, tarmac griplevels are different.... But not because he likes it better! Like the rain hides the flaws of the duc... Maybe catalunya isn't so harsh for the ducati.... Long turns, hi pace turns... Less short braking and less importance of corner exit grip because itzks more fluent and they can hold the pace during most off the corners... Less understeer issues....

Some people here seem to forget a basic principle of motorcycle riding...

...the rain is nothing but a leveling field. it's almost like everyone has the same machine.

...in the rain, it is 80% rider and 20% bike.

So SwissJudge, you're saying Honda had an unfair advantage back when Rossi was their rider?

What is this rain nonsense? Rain is NOT an equalizer. Riders who are good in the rain will do well, provided they have the right setup.
