MotoGP » Valentino Rossi realistic heading to Catalunya

“Although it's hard to imagine another podium, we must still do our best to finish with the front riders” – Valentino Rossi.

So does that mean if it rained for 17 races out of the year that a Dry circut would then be an Equaliser, "what rot" some riders just ride better in the rain, look at Chris Vermeulen for example, Rossi and Stoner have always been good wet riders, I think most Rossi fans are just upset that he can't ride the Duke as well as Stoner on the "normal" dry track, it's that simple!

The Rossi fans do the usual, give Rossi their best for the weekend on a Rossi thread them come along the haters that just bash him and try to take away a great ride by him in Le Mans, probably because he beat their man.. btw the rain is an equalizer. Ask anyone closely involved in racing!

I think the haters are more obsessed with him than his fans are, just look, over the weekend the haters will slowly come out of their cave because Rossi (I'm being realistic) will be mid pack again which they went into hiding after Le Mans

Anyway I hope Rossi has a good weekend and can challenge the Tech 3 boys, hopefully that'll be some progress!

@ Liam48

It is somewhat amusing how all of the detractors were M.I.A. after LeMans. They really had nothing to say.

I hope that Rossi can at least eclipse/run with the T3 boys in the dry because that is progress where the Ducati is concerned. It's a tall order, but that's what makes race weekends so much fun. I am hoping that the Ducati is consistent and formidable by the end of the season.

Disagree with those that think the rider isn't the difference in a wet race. That said, for the upcoming race Rossi is right in being conservative because he knows the improvements are minor and to temper those that think that because he got 2nd in LeMans that he'll be on a podium this race. However, without major changes from Ducati the improvements are likely to be incremental. If he comes close to the podium that will be good start as they need to cut the gap to the front.
