I think the riders are getting more respectful toward each other. I think since the death of Simoncelli, things changed. Also since Stoner's announcement. Hell, even Rossi and Stoner are starting to get pally....

I've always liked Lorenzo for being sincere and sincerely fast. He was like MM is now when he was in 125 and 250. In Spain he was known as "Lunatico" Ok some people didn't like his post -race antics but the Spanish do and so do I. Light hearted fun.

Hard to maintain a true rivalry when one party is no longer a real threat to the other--Pedrosa is still a top rider and a potential race winner at any given event, but he's demonstrated over the past seasons that he's really not a c'ship favorite. Really nothing(dismissive/disparaging) Dani can say about World Champ Jorge, and, as mentioned, Jorge has no reason to feel especially threatened by Dani, so there just isn't any serious fuel to feed a feud.

The situation is reminiscient of Rossi's interactions with his fellow competitors. You could always tell how Valentino viewed another rider by his demeanour--if he was friendly/complimentary the other guy didn't mean a thing to him.

No, he's not a championship favorite with Stoner on the same bike, but with Stoner gone things change a bit...

The question is whether Lorenzo would still beat him in the championship. That's not quite a "lock". Ironically both of them got injured last year though I dare say that Pedrosa got the worst of it.

So realistically if one of them were to change teams it would probably be Pedrosa, he's been with Honda for long enough for both sides to have had enough of it. It would mean that Spies goes back to a satellite team though, which Yamaha would definitely consider, but would Yamaha really want two Spanish riders on its factory team...especially one with as many years in MotoGP as Pedrosa has? I'm thinking that they would give Josh Hayes a call first before bringing Perdrosa over from Honda. Spies may not make it past this year but without a doubt he represents a huge market for Yamaha.

...but I think the big joker is Bradl

Someone is going to move for him, next year. If he stays at LCR Honda he's definitely going to demand a full factory bike and if Honda is so keen on bringing Marquez to a satellite Honda team and giving *him* a full factory bike, that's 4 factory bikes.

So there's Yamaha's army and Honda's army and what is Ducati going to do, their sales are strong but their bike weak...they need a "Stoner clone" more than anyone...they could push Hayden out and lure in a young gun or possibly Crutchlow or Dovi...guys that have a lot of potential but nowhere up to go where they are now

In any case things are looking real bad for the lanky Texan. And he is really going to regret saying that we all know that Dovi is only good for 4ths. Spies is going to need to bag a couple of races this year to keep his seat.

Part of me likes seeing all em get along, but on another hand it sort of reflects the dulling of the championship.
With the financial downturn shrinking the manufacturers and Stoner leaving, its almost like they are riding a farewell tour.
