But that was their choice (..just as it was Rossi's choice to move to Bridgestones in 08). It would be an entirely different argument if rules were bent for Rossi. Tires are all about feel, and feel is subjective. Without feel, there is no confidence, and the straw hut breaks down from there.

Come on guys, if Rossi was getting all this 'special treatment,' surely the reason he was getting it was because he was the best anyway? They wouldn't single out some random rider for what is mostly over-hyped special treatment. And for the record, I have never, in 30 years, seen a rider as good as Rossi in 2004-2005.

Agreed. he is past his best but people are judging his whole career on the last couple of years. In 7 years, will Jorge and Dani still be getting on the podium? Perhaps. Casey? We'll never know 'cos he's bailing out.

Who is the best rider ever?If winning is the yard stick
Giacomo Agostini is.But the issue is rider and bike. in most cases it is for sure Bike and rider. There is a way to know it is by observation that is the only way to know.Even in that it is very subjective. What riders have influenced other riders approach to racing what champions have changed there technique to be like another riders. If you have been watching for many years you know who they are and who is influencing who.....and that's the real truth. So there you go
