More than tyre choice i think casey needs to sort his mind. after his retirment announcment he is going down...and down. He truly is as fast racer but mental side was always his problem . not blessed with a hardcore racing mentality . any ways motogp ill miss u

I think this may turn into quite a busy thread...

I got the feeling he wouldn't break the record but I thought he was more likely to crash than be outpaced by three other riders. It's quite surreal in a way.

Wrong strategy, wrong tire, that's all. Or maybe he just had a bad day. This things happen. There's no way Dovi and Cal (and even Bautista) can stay so close to Casey in normal conditions. Still a long way to go.

Yesterday Casey said he doesn't understand why people were using soft tyres to qualify, he never does a long run in qp just short few runs, if he did more in qualifying i cant help but think he would of found the hard Tyre not as good as the soft.

it was a simple case of the soft tire lasting the race distance.
in most cases being on the hard would normally pick up when those on the softs start losing grip.
i'm a little surprised actually that the soft wasn't used as the temperature was minimal compared to the sweltering heat of practice giving more chance the softs would last.
then again the repsols get even worse chatter on the softs so there isn't a lot of choice for him at the moment until honda get there act together and solve that depressing chatter.
