Were he not struggling this would be no big deal. But he has been struggling. If he had made that pass work he might have gaped the field and then who knows. Instead he's in big trouble and needs some results soon.

I had a feeling he was gonna try to pass alittle too early in the race..Pressure to do well seemed to ge the best of him, imressive race pace once he picked the bike off the ground but still disapointing for himself, the team and his fans. Im getting afraid Yamaha will lose faith in him with the other Yamaha Riders doing so well.
hope this turns around soon.

No, he won't be CRT, and he might well still be in a factory team next year, but I'm starting to doubt very much that it'll be Yamaha. We're nearly a third of the way into the season and placing only 11th on probably the best bike in the class isn't going to make Yamaha bosses hurry to re-sign him. I have no doubt he'll continue to get better and probably have some great rides before the year is out, but having these repeatedly poor starts to the season might have already exhausted the patience of Jarvis & co. What he needs now are a few really strong rides to help him gain some leverage in the rider market
