As I prophesied Spies waited until the end to throw out a fast lap. Won't cut any ice with Yamaha top management I fear. They have to know he can't be relied upon to perform in all conditions. But he can turn that around if he tries like Jorge. Pedro also had his issues with wet races at first and is still not comfortable I think.

The only way Spies is keeping is seat at Yamaha is if he racks up some wins, and it'll need to be more than one, especially when you consider how good a package the yam is this year.

Wow, those Yamahas looked fast around that track yesterday. Poor old Ben was desperate for a good result but Dani was braking too late the whole race. Don't know who complained about the race being boring but that was not the case for me.

Good to hear Tech 3 will be receiving an engine update and new electronics for Silverstone. It seems as though they might get better support from Yamaha than last year. No real improvement from the new factory M1 engine though, according to JL and Ben.

If Barbera can set a 1.42.1 just think what the Factory guys can do... this is surely progress by Ducati!

They didn't set a faster lap late in the day, they must be working on a lot of things!

@pcmax Barbera uses the tow so much that Euro commentators are now calling him 'caravan' If you're unfamiliar, that's a camper in the US. As in, he's being towed everywhere he goes.

@GP1, .6 is still better than 1.36 seconds. Not saying it's great, but it's still an improvement over the early season times. Besides, it's testing and none of the lap times are especially indicative of anything. Don't think anyone is pushing 100% like on race day.
