You say he is not at the front because his bike is cr*p (well, he was able to put it on the podium last year... so now why not?), and you compare him to his team-mates. Nobody gets a MotoGP ride just because he is better than his team-mate. Smith should move into a top team with a top bike. If he can prove there he is so great rider, I don't mind if somebody gives him a MotoGP seat.

The same way Moriwaki has gone from a championship winning bike in 2010 with Elias to a chassis that 3 tail enders are using now? If the chassis is not correct the results are not going to be the same are they?
Tech 3 clearly saw something in Bradley before they offered him his contract with a motogp ride, it's not like he has dirty pictures of Poncherals's wife and is black mailing the team!
It would be great to see him on a competitive chassis so meaningful comparisons can be made but you cannot expect him to give up on a motogp contract because of deficiencies in the equipment the same team has provided him with. You never know he might end up on a Tech 3 CRT effort next year which probably is no bad thing to learn the big bike ropes on.

Okay, you may have a point there. I thought it was a contract issue. Hey, but if not so, the better. Becuase not having a contract with Yamaha but with the TECH-3 team, means that Poncheral might just give him a TECH-3 CRT bike. That would mean that Cal and Dovi could stick to the M1, doesn't it?

Yes maybe CRT. But right now the Tech 3 CRT project is stalled, so it's looking like Herve will just be doing his usual and leasing 2 satellite M1s again.

Re. Dovi and Cal, a spot with Tech 3 again next year is probably the least attractive option for both those guys, since both of them will be hoping for a factory ride somewhere. I shouldn't think either would be desperately keen to stay on satellite machinery for another year.

Well, I am not so sure about that.
The only improvement to a semi-factory Tech 3 Yamaha M1 right now seems to be the factory M1 or a Repsol Honda. I am sure that Crutchlow and Dovi are not keen on jumping on a Ducati. As Stoner leaves there is indeed 1 Honda available. If Spies doesn't come up with something soon, I reckon his factory seat will be up for grabs to. But I am sure Rossi will be on either one them. With the talent of Crutchlow he definitively shouldn't choose the (money of) ducati. Waste of time and effort. Then it is better to stick to Poncherals M1. Or not?

Bradley Smith will be on an M1 next season in Tech3 Colours alongside Valentino Rossi.

I believe that Dovi will end up at Factory Yamaha alongside Lorenzo.

Crutchlow I can see getting the Honda seat alongside Danni as no.1

Spies to all american team with Hayden unless Barberer gets his slot.

To all those throwing you really think Herve would have guaranteed him a MotoGP seat if he didnt think he had something?
His current bike is a piece of poo! I doubt anyone would get on the podium with it in its current form. But hey, lets just look at the results and throw stones. If we applied that logic to everyone then Rossi cant ride for toffee and shouldnt be in MotoGP!
Plenty of people win the lower classes and then drop like a stone (Aoyama etc) and others can flourish when the get their chance.

To all the clever armchair racers. I would love to see how well you would compare with Bradley on track whetther it was a Tech 3 or other Moto 2 bike. I'm sure not one of you would even smell his exhausts let alone get a chance to eximine them as he disappears from your short sited views of what makes a good racer. I have been watching and involved in 2 wheel stuff since B4 Geof Duke was champion and Bradley has what it takes just give him the equipment and stand by.
