Ian, sorry to break it to you, to Ben was lightning quick in pre season testing as well, and look where that got him.

Practice times means nothing if you've lost the mojo to mix it up in the pack. Ben made a step forward in Catalunya, but let's not assume that his test times mean anything at this point other than that the bike is much more capable than Ben has been letting on thus far.

there there now, I've literally just found your 'new tricks' post. Like it. Although, since Honda shafted Dovi I've been a Dovi fan too. Of course I've one eye on Cal, being English. Got to consider Ellison as well, and I really hope Casey is bluffing cos I like watching him. Dammit, Dani is a great little rider, tiny body on a hugely powerfull bike. Jorge probably the most complete rider at the moment...... Hang on, I'm starting to name them all!!

@OldCodger:

Now now, who's getting a bit shirty because i have not name checked your god on wheels, a certain Mr Rossi. oop's, i just fell into your trap to name check dam, but seriously i am not being disingenuous at all, i am a Jorge fan for sure, but that does not mean i cannot comment on other riders who i respect and are being ridiculed by some posters, hell i have even admitted to you previously that i respect your god even, i have no problem with any rider, so if you want trick's my fiend try David Copperfield.

Addendum: Where did i say i was a Dovi, or any other rider fan except Jorge.

I'm still wondering why Rossi can not be faster than this....at least should be faster than other ducati's rider since they ride the same GP12. It will really nice if Rossi can take podium again

Did you see how many riders Ben Passed on Sunday? Yes he crashed but his fight back was a spectacle to see! Ben will come good soon, fear not.

by the next year, there just only 1 factory team (yamaha) on motoGP then following by HONDA-kawasaki-suzuki-BMW-aprilia-Bajaj-ducati-jialing-esemka-harley and other bike manufacture (you can name on later ) on CRT
then the podium split by 2, 1 for yamaha factory team and else for CRT team ....

then by the end of the season WSB change their name into MotoGP and YAMAHA start the new season on 2014 into YAMAHA GP with only 4 racers. JL.Ben,Dov.Carl racing each other.

ha..ha..ha... Silly season starts now

'...but let's not assume that his test times mean anything at this point other than that the bike is much more capable than Ben has been letting on thus far.'

Well in the case of Ben the bike is definitely more capable then he has been letting on. And Ben knows that too. The Yamaha seems to be wired fairly tightly about now relative to the others. Bens head has been broken, hopefully he is finding himself again. The guy can definitely perform at a very high level in MotoGP, but he needs consistency, like he has shown in the past. Time will tell, and I'm wishing Ben the best.
