@ joe850

Way to take my words and twist them. I'm saying that one very small error (which had a large consequence, admittedly) put a damper on a really good weekend. I'm saying that if he could rejoin at the back, pass all the snail CRT's AND ABRAHAM AND BARBERA (SO NOT BEHIND THE LAST SATELLITE RIDER like someone else posted) and still be only 30sec behind, that shows impressive race pace, no matter who you support... So, 1 mistake, ruined what I believe would've been a win...

Spies did look to be really fast again. I was surprised that he just switched it back on. He actually looked faster than I remembered him to be.

I wish him luck he is a nice guy on top of being a great rider was/is having a form slump.

The influence of Yamaha US and the importance of the US market to Yamaha shouldn't be underestimated. For that reason it'll take a lot to dislodge Spies from his seat next year, and his rivals know it. Even Crutchlow said recently he can't see Spies leaving the factory team in 2013. All it will take are a few really strong results and he'll be resigned alongside Jorge. His bad start to the season would have to go on throughout the year for him to be seriously at risk of losing his place.
