MotoGP » Stoner talks big rear steps, front tyre woes

"We knew from when we first tested those tyres that it just wasn't going to work with our bike. We told Bridgestone, everybody from the beginning. But they didn't seem to care" - Casey Stoner.

Nealio

That doesn't really work though, as the major difference between the Pirellis of SBK vs the Bridgestones of MotoGP is the harder, stiffer carcass of the Bridgestones that allow for higher corner speed...

I dont know how much faith you can place in the latest rumour going around Nth.Qld.at the moment. But they reckon Casey's going to open up a motorcycle racing school.When he retires, covering flat track, speedway, moto cross, road racing and perhaps even a bit of ice racing Maybe even an Advanced Ducati course in case Valentino or Nicky are interested
Common Sense Motorcycle Racing a special course Cal may be interested in. I think Casey will make a fortune.

@brainfart

are you sure u watched CS racing the LCR Honda? U accuse him of being a backmarker? hahahaha (i think u had a lazy moment and only checked the where he finished in the championship..... hehehehe)

Casey stoner had a pole and a podium with LCR early in the season when the bikes are still more even. (Definitely not a backmarker)

As the season progressed and the factory bikes were developed, he was forced to over ride the bike and CRASHED a lot.... hence lost points, and low standing on the championship. However, he is almost always at the pointy end before each crash. (ave position when crashing, 5th) - definitely not a backmarker, just a racer with subpar equipment

Regarding the Honda tire issues,

I think it only shows that Repsol boys ride their bikes harder than anyone that they can find the limit of the tires. Maybe the chatter forces them to ride harder and brake harder on some parts to make up for the limit imposed by the chatter.

Maybe JLo have not yet ridden that tire at the limit coz of his Smooth style. He is still in his comfort zone. But if Honda can cure that chatter, and enable CS to ride the way he likes, then JLO would also be forced to step out of his comfort zone and he will feel the limit of that tire. As CS have said, they ride harder during the race.
