"It's a bit strange that Valentino and I did the exact same crash, but maybe we can understand something from the data" - Nicky Hayden.

This place is awful on the track.

Rossi made a mistake, by having maybe a 3 degree lean angle, but still, it's a downhill hole with bumps. Every bike takes a hit from the bumps, and in British weather, it's scary.

Also, if anybody needs to be fired, it's Burgess. Rossi meanwhile should follow another rider to learn the track.

Quite frankly I am DISGUSTED with some of the comments I've read here not just on this thread but over the last year and a half!

The guy is a legend, do you really think a most guys that have won so much and done so much in this sport would stay on a bike that doesn't let you showcase your potential just to try and get it to work again as he has the hunger and determination to win again, most people would have walked by now.

@George I'm afraid with a horrible comment like that you have shown yourself not to be a true race fan, you are an internet troll and if you want to make stupid comments like that, go somewhere else!

@Vilas LOL, that Dani joke made my day :p

All I can say is that, Rossi was finished in 2006, guess what happened, he came back better than ever... go watch the statistics...

Then in 2010 he crashed, then in 2011 he was recovering, then in 2012 he is actually doing something... I know, a lot of excuses... Still 9 titles in his belt... Hate me for that :)

Give it time, Rossi only started winning in 2008 at about round 5 or 6... If he starts winning or getting podiums at mid season or past mid season, it means he will be there again... Everyone is optimistic about the development direction, even if they dont take the direction Rossi has other options, by joining other teams, so, relax... Release the hate and the braging playing video games, having sex, riding a moto, etc... Enjoy the show.

I'm intrigued by the almost identical crashes. You could almost overlay one with the other. Could this be an electronics issue? Possibly the software is misreading the back tyre loss of contact vs front tyre hitting a dip under braking and so the software is making the wrong correction with the traction control or ABS or other electronic intervention? I just don't don't buy it being identical rider error?

LOL @ Liam

Rossi is where he is because of his own undoing. He's "stayed" with Ducati because he didn't have a choice. The only possible saving grace to Rossi is Stoners retirement. Rossi has led Ducati no where. The "greatest devopment team of all time" has done nothing.

Funny how Stoners tenure at Ducati was all his fault, but now it's "Ducati needs to give Rossi a bike".

Give me a break already.

Stoner's remark below on the Ducati crashes might lend weight to my question higher up this string about the contribution of electronics?
"When I was at Ducati there were a few incidents where we would have a bunch of Ducatis down at the exact same point at the same corner,” said the reigning world champion. I think we did it in Qatar in testing. There were two or three Ducatis down at exactly at the same point, you could pretty much look at the same skidmarks for the bikes. At Phillip Island it also happened, at MG corner.”
