As a fan of rossi i'm not here to slag him off but going off history he has shown the ability to ride anything , so can the duke really be that bad ?? Hayden is a rider who has been beaten by Rossi every year but 2006 , but in the last race set a race lap time nearlly 1.5 seconds quicker than rossi and only marginally slower than lorenzo's fastest . I know there are a lot of little things that make a bike last over race distance which is where the duke is losing out . But watching Rossi now , he is not the same rider he used to be . As a sportsman myself i know all about losing confidence , and not being able to do what you did before . I just don't think rossi has admitted that to himself yet . But he is a fighter and with 9 world titles behind him wants to replicate that success . I hope he can do it be i'm not sure he will ..

@ AussieNSW

Sorry! Don't include me in the comments of old because I didn't even know about when Stoner was a Ducati rider. Thus, you well not find any evidence of me making disparaging comments about him being a moaner. It was a nice try though. A+ for effort!

@ Hemmy, "He obviously has to do much more than that in your eyes to be seen as 'achieving' then?"

A bit out of context Hemmy, we are talking Ducati trying to create a Championship winning bike. Casey was finishing 4th.
Re-read my post and you'll see that I was in fact praising Stoner, so no real need to defend him. His giant efforts nearly finished him and Ducati still turned out a rubbish bike. Part of the reason Casey jumped ship to Honda.

To all those who comment. How many of race motorcycles professionally. Do you even know how a sensible rider would rider a bike with problems.
*Hint - he would want to break his bones for nothing. period

One race is one race.. its not because of that that Rossi dont worck enaught, is 33 years Old thats Old?? Old is like Colin edwards and Max biaggi And Carlos Checa.. And this guys still teachingh some kids how to make te.. But the diference kids will allways be stupid risking until get injury.. this guys are more carefull now.. Like you dont win a race for been 1 on the 1 corner, you dont a champiam for win 1 race.. so just chill out

i've been following, observing and researching Ducati very closely this season and i think that hayden is currently performing way above the level that rossi is, and these are my reasons...
Right from Qatar Fp1 Hayden was way ahead of rossi, and outrode him in the race. The same goes for jerez, at this point rossi was about to give up, but decided to run nicky's settings at Portugal, Hayden was still fast at portugal but unfortunately his ecu mapping was messed up by radio signals from rossi's side of the garage. Le mans is a bogie track for hayden, but he still rode hard, unfortunetly he like spies had a huge tankslapper at the start of the race and flooded his helmet with water, this stopped him being able to compete as he was struggleing to see, and do breathe properly. next stop catalunya, hayden witnessed his 'Mystery hand issue' which made his right hand go numb(has happened a few times in his career) and at silverstone he rode the wheels off the ducati to be let down yet again b

I think Val has had enough with the Ducati now.It just hasnt worked out for them at all. What he will do next season is anyones guess, but he is looking completely deflated again. The podium at LeMans did lift his spirits a bit but the reality is that wet races only happen a few times each year and relying on them for results is just not realistic. And lets face it,Nicky isnt exactly setting the grid alight either at the moment.Very very frustrating.
