M1M: But we already have a superstock class. WSBK is good as it is, don't fix it if it ain't broke, just as Leon Haslam said. Now Ezpeleta will be lobbying for WSBKs to slow down. He's a destroyer of not only MotoGP but now WSBK too. WSBK should be totally independent championship, just sanctioned by FIM.

So Superstock and production should be the classes instead of WSBK and Superstock as they are genuinely road bike based instead of the faux-GP that the Flamini brothers have turned WSBK into. In cash strapped times they cost a lot less which means they could return to having two bikes per rider and flag to flag races.

I read with embarassment in MCN that WSB rules havent changed since they started, they have they just don't announce or police them. WSB was at a lot less tuning stage in 1988 the reason for its inception.

Back on topic, the change makes sense, why should Gresini be forced to have MM and lose Castrol and why should LCR be forced to lose ELF? As Ryder said at the weekend the economics for this rule now don't make sense.
It was Herve Poncherals and IRTA's idea for the rule not the MSMA.

re: "Makes me wonder if Casey saw the Repsol behind the scenes backstab coming and if that may have played a role in his decision to walk."

no, he didn't mince his words. he outlined the reasons pointing the finger at us. remember, this is casey we're talking about here. the lad's not one for cloak and dagger.

Honda/Repsol put Dani Pedrosa on a big bike to take on Valentino. Dani isn't big enough to cope with a prototype without crashing and hurting himself enough to take himself out of the title fights. I fear the same would be true of Marquez. Scott Redding on the other hand is BUILT for Moto Gp.
