MotoGP » Bautista: It won’t happen again, but penalty 'excessive'

“I think it is an excessive penalty for a racing incident and whilst I accept it I do so reluctantly” – Alvaro Bautista.

You are lucky your not watching the next race from the stands. Replays showed you to be about 50k too fast and a mile off line.Never mind eh helped Honda a lot, might have moved you up the list for caseys bike.

I think this penalty is more a political decision than anything else. MotoGP is screwed they had 3 bikes that can win races and 8 bikes racing for something. Now a driver makes a mistake and gets such a harsh penalty if I recall mistakes like this were seeing as racing incidents. I rather watch SBK than this fake 18 bike grid that is becoming worse and worse by the day!

As Jorge said he started a 100 yards behind me how could he have hit meads rossis he was changing up as everyone else was breaking and I wondered how many he was going to hit. Would have had some sympathy if he new it but saying everyone was lucky when he'could have wrecked jorges season just shows what a tool he his. Clearly silverstone went to his head. He ain't even close to an Alien and should keep out of their way before he causes another.

I knew something was gonna happen when I saw the rest of the grid braking while he kept coming full ahead..not sure what he was thinking but riders have to be smarter then that at this level..the penalty deffinatly suited the crime IMO..could have been worse for sure!

Bautista said in "AS" that he don't think he was the cause of the accident of last year in Valencia.
Geeezzz, this guy caused a crash of 4 pilots and 1 inyured (Hayden) and he still don't think the was the cause. He crashed Dovi by the back and all others.
Man, for me this guy deserved a bigger penalty to get the messagge.

Clearly silverstone went to his head. @Dim

Your bonehead move. @J Davis

These two statements from other posters sum it up rather well...

Noone liked that move. Not even Honda as it could have resulted in a Repsol Honda being taken out...

Sharp as a spoon...

His intelligence is inversely proportional to his natural talent.

sorry if i would think differently.
ive seen this kind of accident everywhere in every motorsport including WSBK and F1. for me it is just a race accident. when a racer comes with full anticipation but not ready yet either by machine condition or rider skill.
unluckily, this happens to Lorenzo who was leading the very strong and talented CS, so 25pt has meant too much.
Bautista should learn more and know how to wait and exactly needs to be more cautious not to hurt other people.
all in all, it has given more fun to the sports.
thank for those supporters and haters! you also bring colours to competition!

Bautista missed his braking point by 5 meters and that's already big enough . Stop with your 50k bullsh*ts.

And anyone with a bit of fairness knows that MGP is a double-standard mafia. Rossi, Simo and Marquez all made those kind of mistakes and never been penalized.

I'm all with Bautista here, He's right to be p*ssed.

Except that he *has* made a mistake like this in the past and wasn't penalized (Valencia last year). So I don't think anyone is after him.

I can't really remember another incident like this in recent MotoGP, and as much as I am rooting for Alvaro (from being on the underdog Suzuki, and being taken out by Barbera in China in 250s), this wasn't a simple racing incident.
