MotoGP » Bautista: It won’t happen again, but penalty 'excessive'

“I think it is an excessive penalty for a racing incident and whilst I accept it I do so reluctantly” – Alvaro Bautista.

It was a bl00dy stupid trick for Bautista to pull 'tho no one believes it was intentional

.... BUT.....

Compare that with the 'Move back 3 places' for Sofuoglu who *deliberatley* rammed Foret.

Yeah separate series .... still under the same overall ownership 'though.

Um. I suppose my quarrel's not with Bautista having to start from the back - You can argue that will compel him to put back some of the entertainment he took out of the Assen race.

Its that WSBK responded too limp-wristedly to deliberate, potentially lethal riding.

Its double standards.

Seems to be be a case of only hitting the lesser names in this paddock. Nothing happened to Rossi after crashing and taking stoner down last year and Marquez in moto2 has acted far. Worse and not had any penalty. This is unfair. Should have been 5 grid places at worst.

Maybe now he'll learn from it and move on? As stated by others he's done it before. The part that bothers me and I like Bautista is he states "another rider" at least have the guts to admit you took out the championship leader at that time and his name is Jorge Lorenzo. It's almost as if he's like a young child rationalizing if I don't mention his name it won't look as bad as it really was.

Rossi taking out Stoner was different, Rossi was closer to go for a move. This was from 20 bike lengths behind. Bautista could of killed Jorge, you never know how a rider might land on the ground. Of course he deserves a penalty like the one he's been given. Only people who do not like Jorge will disagree.

I'm a Lorenzo fan, but was a case of Jorge getting caught up in Alvaros crash. Marquez should have missed a race for his overtake at 1st race of year and got nothing, where's the consistentancy? He put some one off the track on the fastest bend and got nothing.

I hate JLo but do fully agree with the penalty, as JLo said the penalty may be a little lite. prefer to watch a race that is safe and fun, and not full of ignorant fools aka Bautista. You would expect this type of riding from a rookie. If next year is like this one MotoGP is headed down a sad and dismall path.

Guys, guys
If the Front gave a little more grip, it could go without any accidents. You all see only things after his fall.
The speed wasnt spectacular...

@Dario
Bautista last year in Valencia? give me a break. It was Dovi mistake, not Alvaros. You watch motogp or only a ToiToi guy?

Engine damage? Its not Alvaros thing. Its a 10
euro liitle sensor, the could assebly it to bike. Crap Yama mechanic or ing. decision.

I had the same with my s1000rr and BMW had to replace my engine...

I've never seen a sensor make so much smoke!

Did your engine also grenade itself?

Re the front tyre - it isn't possible to create a tyre with so much friction that you wont crash if you make a mistake - if they made a tyre with that much friction it would be like glue and wouldn't even be able to rotate it would be so sticky!

Dovi was not at fault for last year's at Valencia. Watch the video, 10 times !
Dovi put his bike closer to Rossi so he could take a better line towards the apex, but Bautista the bonehead put the front of his Suzuki next to Dovi's rear tire even though Dovi was ahead of him already. So in a bonehead this is my lane scenario he left the bike in that line and of course the rear of the other tire took him out. Alvaro Bautista should be put in the microscope next races.
