Apart from money surely success interests Cal...Apart from the works Yam ride which it would be nice to see It would be disappointing to get a factory ride just to go slower than a satellite Yam..Better to be chasing 3rd than 6th...I guess 3rd on the yam still pays less!!

Not right now. I think Rossi's struggles on the bike show they have some work to do to make it more rideable in dry conditions. And the results he's been getting on the M1, he should be pushing for the works M1 seat alongside Lorenzo

A satellite yamaha is far better than a factory Ducati.

He has to ask himself whether he really thinks that Rossi and Hayden are slouches and he could do better

In a meeting with Lin Jarvis at Assen, Cal was told by Jarvis that the 'priority is to sign Ben'. So with the Yamaha route being blocked, he doesn't have anywhere else to go to get a factory ride. Poncharal has offered him a deal to stay with Tech 3 again, but there are rumours that the deal Yamaha will offer Spies is a 2-year one again, so staying with Tech 3 is effectively a road to nowhere (for both Cal and Dovi). Going to Ducati is a massive gamble, but in not going he resigns himself to satellite status for the foreseeable future. Tough call.

Based on the trouble Rossi is having you have to be nuts to jump on the Duc. Cal should stick with Tech3 unless they're making room for someone else. Factory M1 is unlikely sorry Brit fans.

Tough call indeed Don.But Cal is having more success on the satellite Yamaha right now than he would probably have on the factory Ducati.I would hold tight where he is for now.Nothing is set in stone yet so lets see how things pan out.Ducati is going to be seen as the poisoned chalice by many.A career wrecker to be avoided.

A quick refresher for those who might not be in the know, but Bradley Smith has a contract for one of the two seats on the Tech 3 Yamaha squad. With Jorge Lorenzo having signed a contract with Yamaha, this leaves one seat with Yamaha and one seat with Tech 3 (Yamaha B-squad) for a total of two seats for which there are three riders, Andrea Dovisioso, Ben Spies and Cal Crutchlow. Cal's injury has come at an inopportune time but he has responded well and may have even helped him in regards to his superhero efforts in achieveing results with such an injury. At this time you would think that Ben Spies is the odd man out, but keep in mind that we are only halfway into the season and support for Ben seems strong, with rumours that if he does not improve his performance by Indianapolis, he will be out. Therefore it SEEMS that Cal is odd man out. If we are talking job security, then Cal should take the Ducati offer if he is not given an offer by Yamaha/Tech 3 after Indy.
