MotoGP » Set-up tweaks fail to pay dividends for Spies

'This morning was a bit frustrating, we went out to try a couple of things that didn't work, the bike wasn't that bad we just made it a bit too slow' - Ben Spies

simply look at sponsoship? country of origin?

number of GP's in each country? wildcards in each country?

Oh no! Did I miss the race again? Everytime Cal and Dovi beat Spies in practice I get very confused and think THAT was the race.

Looked like a tough practice, but again, the times were "close enough" considering the weather and no one was really putting it out there.

The one thing that comes to mind is why are the CRT bikes not closer in the rain? I imagine no team is running Carbon brakes in the rain, and it is "the great equalizer" everyone likes to talk about, so am I missing something? Electronics maybe? IF that is true, then this really is no longer a sport.

Ben, ride your ride buddy, it can't rain every day (even though sounds as though you are hoping it does this weekend).

The Spies bashers are all either Cal or Dovi fans and they want 'their' guy to be in Ben's seat so desperately that they refuse to look at facts, and problems that were FAR beyond Ben's control.

Problems happen. Everyone has to deal with them. Cal has ridden brilliantly this year, but has yet to podium for a variety of reasons.

I DO think it's funny that the same people that are screaming for Ben to lose his seat because Dovi and Cal are crushing him in the points this year are the same people who call Nicky's championship lucky because while he won on points, he didn't win a lot of races. Hmmmm.

Yeah.. can't wait to see Dovi battling for 4th every race next year on the factory bike. Oh wait.. I've seen that before. Every year he was on the Honda.

At the end of the day there are really only two truly competitive combos on the grid. Casey's Honda and Jorge's Yamaha. Since no one else has won a race since Last October! Others have come close but until someone is truly there harassing them week in and week out no one is truly competitive. Dani comes closest at the moment but even he has to be getting tired of cleaning up the scraps every round.

I've been saying it all season..Ben needs a new face in the Garage,His crew isn't getting the Job done..look at how well sorted the Other Factory Yamaha and Tech 3 Bikes surprised that the Yamaha Big wigs havn't insisted on a change before now.He has made mistakes but his bike setup is seriously lagging and that shouldnt be an issue at this level.
