Excuses? Hmmmmm, you dont need excuses when your 4th in the championship. Maybe if your in 10th, then yes, but please dont tar all the riders with the same brush just because he's beating your rider.

You have to be a Spies fan at a guess? LOL!!!!!!

Starting from the front of the second row is a good position and i hope Cal can capitalise on it tomorrow.
Some people on this site like to bash Cal,but the fact is,he is 4th in the championship ahead of 3 factory bikes. Not a bad achievement on a satellite bike i reckon.

This was one of Cal's very worst circuits last year, so to go from being unable to get inside the top 10 to contesting for pole today is quite some improvement curve. I think the usual suspects will be away with it at the front, but I'd expect Cal to be running top 5 again tomorrow. If he can do that on one of his 'bogey' circuits then it bodes well for the remainder of his championship.

re: "We improved in the rain today and my Yamaha Tech 3 crew put another great bike underneath me."

cal, if were you, i'd remember words like this and take ducati's offer with a grain of salt. you won't be able to wipe your a$$ with that "offer" if audi (once the buyout's complete) decides to shelve the grandprix effort and shift ducati's focus back onto WSBK. the mothballing of the xerox team to direct attention on GP's and VR46 came from the suits at investindustrial looking to cash out... NOT from inside borgo panigale. there's a reason all the big names who'd been there for YEARS (suppo, tardozzi, terblanche, locke, etc.) were conveniently gone before rossi's arrival.
