MotoGP » Fortune favours Lorenzo as he regains lead

Having run out of luck at the Assen TT a week ago, Jorge Lorenzo enjoys a reversal of fortunes in the German Grand Prix.

Most Practice sessions were in wet conditions, with little time to setup the bike for dry. Repsol Honda got it right and Yamaha didn't. Add Lorenzo's injuries to the mix and you have the 15 seconds gap.

If I was a Yamaha boss I still wouldn't be worried. Otherwise, if it happened again in Mugello... :?

If Danny cannot win at Sachsenring he won't win anywhere. Once Jorge and Danny's glee subsides they will start to get worried, Stoners worst tracks are now behind him. Unlike others he does not just ride for points, he rides to win that is why he is the best.

Fortune? Hardly. He was unlucky when he was taken out at Assen, but to say Lorenzo was lucky at Sachsenring would be to say that Stoner was unlucky. He wasn't. Stoner himself admits he made a mistake, Lorenzo didn't. Therefore Lorenzo wasn't lucky, he rode better than Stoner.

And before Stoner's adoring fans wade in saying it was only one mistake, but he was faster for the rest of the race they need to remember one thing. The race is from the light to the flag. Being faster for 99% of it counts for nothing if you throw your bike in the gravel before you cross the line.
