I don't know for you guys but it makes complete sense to me why Yamaha want to continue with Spies. Like other factory teams, Yamaha too want two riders capable of fighting at the front and win races. Dovizioso for all his talent, determination and grit couldn't muster a single win last year on an unbelievably quick Honda. You need to win races to win the championship.

Now coming to Crutchlow, when Spies won the World Championship in SBK in his rookie year, Crutchlow had pretty mediocre results and if you compare their times at Tech 3 again Spies holds the edge..

Spies has already shown that he can up with the top riders.. Assen, Indy and Valencia immediately spring to mind. He's going through a tough time but everyone does and he'll come out of it..

As for selling products and endorsements card, its complete bull.. If Yamaha were really concerned with that they would've hired Rossi who I bet would trade half his nuts to sign for Yamaha!

All of these posts about Spies fans being blind fools, really? How about completely ignoring the fact that Spies just had his best finish at a track where he has only experienced limited success at previously? Who is being blind and whose comments are truly foolish? Cal was praised for conquering a "bogey" track all weekend long, so why is a personal best finish at a track where Spies finished 14th, two years ago, seen as a failure? It is not a failure and should not be viewed as such. The expectations set by the Spies haters are not only unfair, they are unrealistic and truly reflect the level of stupidity of Spies detractors. I suggest you people look in the mirror if you want to see the definition of a blind fool, as it will be defined by the reflection staring back at you.

Looks like the Cal Crutchlow fan club is in full, nothing good to talk about over the last 3 races in his own thread so they'll come over here and **** on Spies for having a factory Yamaha ride even though Cal has zero chance of getting it,may as well stop on Dovis thread and crap on him for being faster then your British super hero while your at it..good for a laugh if nothing else!

I don't agree with the excuses being made by his fans as he hasn't proven himself worthy of that ride all year. Time and time again Dovi & Cal have out raced him, this is about the fourth race this season he's blamed the tires and the other Yamaha riders haven't had those problems apart from Asses. I think Dovi us much more deserving of that ride and even Cal but moreso Dovi.

I've heard of Ben Spies and Andrea Dovizioso. They are both Moto GP race winners. Who is this Cal Crutchlow guy? Has he won a race? Has he been on a podium? Has he ever had a factory ride? Is he the number 1 rider on his own team? Why the fuss about this Toseland guy, oh I mean Cal , or Tom Sykes, or is it Cal?. Its hard to get all these mid pack Brit riders names since they come and go. Oh , wait , Bradley Smith come next year.....

tcrook, you are clearly a confused individual. Firstly in WSBK Tardozzi gifted Spies his WC due to no team orders at Ducati, granted it was an excellent effort in a rookie year by Spies but lady luck was on his side. Secondly Cal has form too in that he was the 09 WSS champ and has adapted to GP superbly. Spies is the new Toseland and if it wasn't for sponsorship deals he would be gone this year... Cal has hunger and that's the difference. Dovi is class and no doubt should be on a factory bike. Sorry to say Bens been there done that attitude won't get him another win imho.
