Dovi sure has beat him 2 races in a row. No denying that but the time differences were by thousandth of a second both races. Winning is winning but those that speak like Dovi "owned", "spanked" Spies or other such nonsense, well its nonsense. Gotta hand it to Dovi though, two fairly awesome rides.

Ben is not doing as well as the Yamaha faithful expected but my question: is he better than Nicky Hayden? Of the two Americans, given identical factory rides, Yamaha or Hondas, who is faster? Nicky is hampered by the Ducati but always dogs the aliens at the beginning of the race and hangs with them for a few laps. The Duc is hard on tires and Nicky Fades. Hayden or Spies, same bikes, who's faster over a season?

"Paul Joiner.
Please dont tar us all with the same brush.I am a fan of Bens but i am not a blind fan.The simple fact is,there have been 8 races this year so far,and Dovi has finished ahead of Ben in 7 of them on a satellite bike. That is not hating mate,it is fact."

Hoppy I understand facts and stats but as an admirer of Mr Spies and his talent i for one will support him just as i have supported others with his tenacity , and determination until they are no longer Moto GP class riders and not jump ship just because someone else is the flavor of the month. The season is long and anything can happen. I, like anyone who speculates why Ben has struggled this year, dont know why the results havent been there but I will continue to support him until he does come good. If he does not then he may not find himself in the factory seat of Yamaha but he will be a factory rider for someone. He is proven on several different types of machinery, a champion in AMA superbike, World Superbike, and a mot

Yamaha should keep Spies on the factory bike and get him better crew. Houseworth isn't doing his job.

Everyone could see Ben's bike acting up and not handling through that race and it was obvious he had to back off the pace early on because of that.

Regarding Dovi as a replacement, HELL NO.

Dovi has been in GP's many years and even had a factory Honda ride and couldn't get anything done. He's not a winning rider.

Spies is still new to GP's and has already taken a win and podiums.

Just fix Ben's bike and watch him challenge for podiums and wins.
