First let's see if Honda really fixed their problems or if Germany was a one off. If it's hot in the race the Hondas could very well struggle with tire wear with these new BS softer tires.

In any case both Dani and Casey should be strong there as both love that track. I would like to see Dani win it but I think he will run out of stamina like in Assen due to the fast changes of direction. Remember this is not 800 anymore. Maybe he needs to follow the leader for 2 thirds of the race and then pounce.

Ever jump from a 600 race bike to a 1,000? Totally different ballgame. A lot people I know are faster on the 600. Since I haven't gone from a 800 gp bike to a 1,000 gp bike, I'm just guessing, but I would think the differences are significant.

The new tires hurt Dani more than anyone else but that is not the reason for ex. why he faded so much after 15 laps at Assen. The reason was that he ran out of energy/strength as he himself admited, due to going flat-out until that point (with Stoner pressure) and Assen is a demanding track due to fast changes of direction. Did you read his comments after the that race?

The new 1000 bikes are heavier and more powerful and require more energy of the rider in a race, especially on tracks with fast changes of direction and hard braking. If Dani was a little bigger it wouldn't be a problem. Next year the bikes will be even heavier. I read riders like Lorenzo say that the races this year are more physicaly demanding because of the bikes.

I would argue there isn't much difference between the 8's and the thous, physicaly no and also the power was restricted by stoke limits,I would sugest that the 990 5cylinder with modern valves and electronic package would take the thous apart.
