GOod on Bautista, hate him or like him, that was one damn impressive race to come from the back and finish 7th.

Im beginning to get a wee bit annoyed with the Gresini team. I loved Marco to death, crap I even got my mates into motorcycle racing because of Marco's balls out riding. But this mourning of his death just seems to go on and on! I mean what of Dajiro Mr Gresini?? have we forgotten about him?? and does anyone still remember that awesome kid Tomizawa?? Its like they never existed...quite sad really. Marco (bless his soul) is probably being singled out for his Italian heritage ....

Galvanised, great, he's rust resistant now,
Joking aside, hope he does the team proud. Marco would no doubt be battling it out with the aliens now if not for his untimely passing. Still saddened by his death.

Watch this boy on sunday. He's always been fast at Mugello, remember his win in 2007, first year in 250. He's always fast when a track is hot and can put some heat on the rear tyre (that's why he's the only one who usually uses the soft rear tyre), and this weekend mugello wiil be hot as hell.

Fair play to the guy, getting up to seventh was a good result. However where did Cal finish when he started from the back? So Bautista's result was impressive, but not exceptional.

I think Cal finished 6th..and was hailed as heroic(mabey it was 5th not possitive)
I just hope AB doesn't get too aggressive and make another bone head pass and end up taking out another rider..he needs to be alittle smarter with his passes..even last weekend I though that big pass was dangerous.
Good luck to him..wish Gresini would bring back there white livery for this race at least.

The mourning of Marco Simoncelli is understandable and has not been excessive. There was naturally a big tribute to him at Valencia, the race after his death, and now there is one at his home GP. I expect we will have another tribute at Sepang this year for the first anniversary and that will be it.

Marco was different to Daijiro in that he was a real extrovert. That made him popular with the fans who could relate to his outward enthusiasm for racing and love of life. He was fun and he was entertaining... people tuned in to watch him and, whilst it may sound harsh on Kato, Marco was more widely known and loved by the fans. His loss has been felt greater than the loss of anyone else in modern motorcycle racing. That may sound harsh on DK, who had just as much potential. But DK, typically Japanese, was very introverted and private. Fans didn't relate to him in the same way.

It's odd nonetheless how their careers was so similar - 250cc champion, moved up to MotoGP with Gresi
