My opinion on the Rossi vs. Hayden:
Rossi's style does not work on the duc. Hayden does better because it fits his style better (grown up on dirt track) and he has more years on it.

Put Rossi and Hayden on a honda - not even a contest. Same with Yamaha. Rossi would destroy Hayden. Why: because those bike suite his style (what he grew up with)

@ Yuri

Good questions!

1) Hayden has a few extra years of experience on the Ducati, and Rossi has STILL fared better than Hayden on the problematic bike. His first year on the "troubled Duc" he out-paced Hayden, and his 2nd year on the bike he has bettered any race effort that Hayden ever managed. And the story continues...

2) Yes! When you have two HRC bikes, two Factory Yamaha's (with one admittedly underperforming at the moment), two dialed in T3 bikes, and the inclusion of Bautista and Bradl's bike....all of which have handling ability that far exceed the GP12, it goes without saying.

3) Stoner would ride the GP better than Rossi, but he wouldn't be in the top 3. That much I'd bet on!

4) Yes! ...I would bet on "my" answer to question number 3. Stoner would not be ahead of Lorenzo nor Pedrosa, and he'd have a hard time with the T3 bikes.

P.S. I never play ring around the rosey. I'm always direct!

@ Mark....Pray tell me how a bike developed by the so called greatest bike developer of all time be flawed.

You cant tell me that Ducati has not given Rossi what he wants, because as we all know and as you say this is a completely different bike to the one Stoner was riding.

@ Catch Up

It is fairly well documented - be it implied, overt or subtextual - that the factory did "what they wanted to do, on their time...regardless of what was presented by Rossi and crew". THAT is what led to the outburst by outburst that the factory could not counter (because it was true). The factory spent all of 2011 "exhausting their efforts", and it was only 2012 that they actually started making effective changes.

@Realist .
i don't think that ducati were expecting such radical changes to be demanded when they signed vale up mate.
i think both parties were expecting to solve the problems with set up and a few new parts.
not even vale and jb knew what was needed to be done after the first year.
vale asked for a twin spar and they got him one , and still nothing happened.
its hard to just say ducati never listened to them because the bike was changing every race and money was pumping freely into the project.

Read what Jeremy Burgess has had to say. In other words no, they have not given Rossi what he wants. Do some research.
