@Yuri u admitted it.u said Hayden got 11 top 6 finishes in 2010 and what happened next.Why hasn't he finished on top 6 so many times in 2011 and 2012.That says that bike was underperforming.So even Casey wouldn't fare well on that crap.This shows bike is slowly degrading.

The fact that Hayden did better than Rossi on the Ducati in the past years than Rossi is doing now, only proves that the Ducati is actually regressing instead of progressing because when compared on year-to-year basis Rossi outpaced and outpaces Hayden (whatever the bike), to this day.

And Rossi has clearly stated that whatever he and his team tell to the factory they don't get listened to.

Ducati need new engineers, not new riders.

@Realist:

Yuri has a point, Rossi is hardly head and shoulders above him, and Nicky is better in practice and the races, he is usually in the top six until tires come into the equation, and if they sort that out, Nicky would own him.

Seriously WTF does that mean?

Is he going to now finally push the bike to the limit? Was he NOT riding at maximum effort these previous 8 races?

The argument that the Ducati is de-grading is not the point.

However, Hayden has stating a few times that the Ducati is the fastest Ducati he's ever ridden. But anyway.

Yes there are many different reasons whay riders get different results in different years, but again the fact remains that Hayden has had better results with Ducati than Rossi.

If you guys want to interpret that to assume that im saying Hayden is better than Rossi, then go for it, but thats your own choice, not mine.

the point is that Rossi and Hayden are performing very similar on the Ducati. Thats suggests the riders have similar ability and thats the most accurate way of comparing two riders in this game.

@Yuri

Hayden been there for what 5 years? 2008-20013ish. and Rossi less than 2 years. You just make yourself even more ridiculous by comparing Hayden to Rossi. I remember Rossi won more races that year when Hayden won his so called title. as someone mentioned, Hayden is no Rossi and even himself knows it. almost everybody involved in motogp knows that Rossi is genius even at 33.

Aha then u say both are pretty similar riders,then Rossi won 3 WC's with Honda and when Nicky had a by far better bike in 2005 what did he do.In 2006 he just edged out Rossi.

@Sam:

Yuri is comparing Nicky with Rossi since they have been team mates, also the bike is totally different as it's now a 1000 not a 800 and a completely different frame, so those extra years on it do not count.

The Ducati "regressing" doesn't mean that the bike becomes slower as years pass, it means it becomes faster at a slower rate than its rivals. Hayden and Rossi are at a similar pace because Rossi doesn't like the bike and his style isn't suited to it. He obviously doesn't ride in as "spirited" a mood as is required to produce that extra 0.3 of a second/round to show any real difference.
