Please help me get my head around these Ducati record sales figures. Are these sales figures US Ducati sales 2011 as compared to US Ducati sales 2009. Surely they are not comparing Ducati sales with the sales of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki. What are these actual figures, I am most interested in my enlightment

The sales record is for Ducati North america which is Ducati's largest market. It is compared to previous sales level and not as compared to other manufacturers. The article is located at roadracingworld.com

No, I have never worked for a German company (I'm an American). Your contribution is comprised of just as much supposition as mine and TedG's. Sure, your contribution may describe the general proclivity of a German company, but just like humans, not all businesses are alike. Audi may approach this situation differently than your "typical" German conglomerate. Only time will tell what will occur due to this venture.
