RockStar gives Lorenzo wings!

Or is it the Black Mamba helment...?

Either way: impressive pace and impressive speed. The Ducati were also looking good, it seems that all the test time spent at Mugello is paying off. The HRC bikes were quite fast too, but it's odd to see so much difference to Lorenzo.

Bring on FP2!

Interesting that even after Rossi's comments nobody has topped 350km/h. Only Barbera has approached it by setting 345km/h. And Rossi was the only other rider to top 340 on a full lap.

Interestingly Lorenzo and Stoner didn't even come close to 340 let alone 350 on their hottest laps. Looking at where Rossi and Barbera are on the sheets a fast top speed doesn't seem to be that critical to setting a fast time. The only advantage I expect it to give come race day will be the ability to pass others at the end of the straight. The only problem being of course that you'll have to be within striking distance to do that.

@there there now don't be so convinced that Cal is going to Ducati. Ducati had given him a deadline to sign of this sunday and only yesterday Cal was saying that they haven't even let him see a draft contract yet. I doubt he'll sign a contract that he hasn't had time to read properly.

Whether this means Ducati want more time or have got cold feet over the deal I don't know. It could even be that Audi have intervened. Who knows.

Also I doubt Tech3 would be so childish as to scupper Cal's chances, it would only make them look bad if one of their riders wasn't doing well.
