Dani Pedrosa creates a small upset by taking pole position for the 2012 Italian Grand Prix, ahead of pre-session favourite Jorge Lorenzo and revelation Hector Barbera.

that was a savage qually.
well done to the top 3 and for hector as well for going all out without a tow.
there were a few riders going through some problems!
and vale was one of them , just because he was far down and the other two wern't don't mean an awful lot.
styles and set up's are all different , some get it working and some don't.
not unlike pedro's bike and stoners.

Say as much as you want about rossi, but he has got a better race pace then the other ducati riders. And on race day we shall se him beat the other ducati's for sure. I will be bold to say rossi will pull up to sixth position, but i wish for a podium finish. he has been working on the hard tyres and on the setting. Hope it will be a disputed race with no crashes, and a great show for us bikers.

Not really surprised. Lorenzo has looked sublime through the practice sessions but Pedrosa has pretty much been his only challenger so far and he is good around Mugello. Stoner isn't often that good around here so I'm not completely surprised. Race pace for him must be discouraging though, especially seeing as he's behind both Lorenzo and Pedrosa in the standings.
