MotoGP » Pedrosa 'pretty confident', wary of Lorenzo

Dani Pedrosa sees no reason why he shouldn't be confident of victory from pole position in the Italian Grand Prix, but admits Jorge Lorenzo will be stern competition.

Dani and George look evenly matched which should make for an interesting race. The others will probably have to settle for fighting for the bottom step of the podium. The heat will be a big factor in term of who has tyres left at the end. If they go too hard early they may lose out at the end.

DP should put hard to stick with JL or it can be in either way. hope HB & ND can also match them both because we all would like to see close fight in MotoGP class even from a strangers!
this would be interesting to watch how DP and JL will react to new challengers if they are there to compete! also hope that CS can stick and wait for the moment, then join the fun because HE is rather a real racer than a point collector!
btw safe and fun race please.

I'm seeing a couple of comments saying Dani should watch out for Stoner. I get that you shouldn't underestimate anyone but there is no evidence to suggest Stoner will really get anywhere near Dani. Pedrosa to me seems the only guy who can challenge Jorge. In terms of comparitive lap time, Lorenzo has a slight advantage. As for Lorenzo getting a 'certain' pole, nothing certain about it. His and Pedrosa's lap would have been pretty damn close. Looking forward to the race though. Looks like a two-horse battle. Hopefully Lorenzo and Pedrosa can have a good battle and Jorge doesn't run away with it.

Looks like honda and repsol are fully supporting their loyal rider now and hanging stoner out to dry for slagging the sport and his bike all the time. After the championship that honda gave him! Remember at honda, the bike is never at fault and it's the bike that makes the rider a winner. Stoner has been saying so much crap about the bike.

Its fun reading how people are 100% sure Lorenzo will win. Races are never certain till you past the chequered flag. A mistake omn one lap can cost the race, just like an uncertain start or other stuff including your opponent finding something on the race day or weather conditions changing or modifying something that reveals to be a huge handicap. All I am saying is I support Dani fully and I know Lorenzo looks good on pace. I hope he keeps with him and bets on tyre wear or better pace at the end.
