MotoGP » Barbera flies Ducati flag with first front row

Ducati get a welcome boost on home soil, though few predicted it would be satellite Pramac Racing rider Hector Barbera doing the 'boosting' with third on the grid.

Not sure how he did it but it doesnt make the factory Duc's look very good,Im almost possitive if Dovi/Cal and Spies hadnt had there miss-haps the front row would look different but good on HB for showing the GP12 can put a hot lab in.

alot of folks complain about Hector getting a tow once in awhile.

Really the kid is overlooked and always seems to give his best on a 2nd tier Duc.

I'm happy for him. Best of luck tomorrow Hector!

Once in a while?

How about every session of every race. Lorenzo's team made a symbol for hector on their pit board, it's a tricycle.

@ CRT, why even continue harping about tows? Drafting, towing, slipstreaming, whatever you want to call it has been an understood part of all forms of circuit racing for many many (many) decades. There are few instances during a session where it can even be AVOIDED if someone was daft enough to do so. Let's find something of more substance to argue about.

will still finish last of prototypes that dont bin it or have problems, even tho it was a good lap.

Edit = Ok might be wrong there, Bautista seems to be struggling badly in warm up & forgot he crashed liked 3 times already

He was fast without following anyone else, it's an impressive result with a not too competitive bike. Looks like the circuit suits his and Hayden's Ducati, meanwhile one Valentino Rossi is only tenth.

And tired of hearing the "caravan Barbera" and similar speak. He's not the only one who does that.
